You can use the iotty Intelligent Switch with smart bulbs, there are two possibilities:
- connect the smart bulb to the iotty device as a common switch. In this case you need to be sure that the iotty Smart Switch is turned on in order to control the Smart Bulb;
- connect the Smart Bulb directly to the power without passing through the iotty device, so that it always receives power. In this case the iotty Switch will only need power through the Phase and Neutral.
In this case, you have to remember to leave a free gang (when you physically connect the iotty plate you will have to leave at least one RL free) to assign it to the Smart Bulb and, through IFTTT, you will have to create the 2 Applets that allow you to control your Smart Bulb via Wi-Fi:
if the iotty gang is on, then the Smart Bulb is on;
if the iotty gang is off, then the Smart Bulb is off;
Remember, however, that if you don't control the bulb only from the iotty device, the status of both (iotty button and smart bulb) will be misaligned.
For example:
if you turn on the Smart Bulb via the iotty device (physically or from app) and then you decide to use directly the application of your Smart Bulb and turn off the bulb--> In this case the iotty switch will have remained on while the bulb was turned off.
The solution, however, is easy: once you want to turn the bulb on again using the iotty gang, you just need to realign the switch and the bulb by clicking at least twice on the iotty gang: you will first have to turn it off and then turn it on again manually or from the iotty app.
We also remind you that in case of lack of internet, since there is no physical connection between the iotty button and the Smart Bulb, it will not be possible to control the Smart Bulb from the iotty device and the light will remain on or off, depending on the last state it was in before losing the connection.
